From the beginning
Discovering mixed media

When I was 16 I went to a tiny little art collage in Harrogate, North Yorkshire in the UK. I knew I enjoyed making art and was reasonably good at it but no one at school took art seriously back then circa 1980. I had no idea what to do with it so I opted for graphic design. It didn't take very long to realise that I didn't want to mock up magazine pages or create logos and letterheads for bathroom companies. Pretty awful and uninspiring.
Fast forward 30plus years and one day I ordered myself some art stamps that I could 'colour in'. I had no idea if I could still paint it had been so many years. Pinterest was a goldmine of links to little art tutorials and online blogs rich with information.
Mixed media was what I was made for and so my art journey began.
I have masses of old photos that I have saved that document my art journey and here are the very stamps. I wonder if they still make them? I know they weren't cheap to buy and I sold mine on Ebay as I moved on to picking up a paintbrush. They bring back happy memories.

So I had to go have a little look and found that there are loads more and they are absolutely fabulous several years on! Go have a look here at STAMPING BELLA and if you do buy one from this link I'll get a teeny gift from Amazon towards some new arty supplies because we can never have enough!
